Festival of Opera

This is an ensemble of young, talented and qualified singers, who have taken classical music seriously. Every single one of them is active in the field of music, and is the most wanted singer in their respective churches, colleges, and are regular soloists in larger choirs like the Madras Musical Association. The talent consists of 8 female voices and 5 male voices and uses 2 accompanists. All of them are qualified musicians with diplomas from Trinity College, London.

Chromatics stages concerts of Arias and Art songs, showcasing individual voices through arias from operas and oratorios and lieder and Italian art songs.

Chromatics have done very successful concerts in many cities of South India and got rave reviews. They do “Sacred Arias” concerts too, featuring Handel, Haydn, Mozart and Mendelssohn.

The ensemble is put together and music arranged by Augustine Paul who holds a Licentiate with Trinity College and is a well -known Choral conductor and teacher.

For these concerts, the ensemble will perform classical music for 100 minutes including a scenes from operas from Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras by composers like Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini and Rossini . The singers will be accompanied by piano and a woodwind and strings ensemble.

You can be assured of two enchanting evenings of music. Different repertoire has been planned for both the days.
