The Bombay Chamber Orchestra was founded 57 years ago in 1962, by Mumbai’s very own Western Classical music veteran, Jini Dinshaw. It is the city’s only indigenous orchestra, whose member-musicians are local Indians from different age groups and different professions. For decades, BCO’s musicians have been attending 7 am rehearsals before work hours, to be able to stage four concerts a year for the city of Mumbai. The BCO is affiliated to the World Federation of Amateur Orchestras, has performed with dozens of renowned conductors and soloists from around the world.
